What's better than finding a stranger's message in a bottle? How about finding a turtle with the initials and date carved by one's own son, 47-years ago. That's what happened to 85-year old Holland Cokeley on May 6th, 2012, while walking his dog in South Strabane Township in Washington County, Pennsylvania.

Bullying is a surprisingly common trait among humans - occurring not only on school playgrounds but also, in the workplace and even, among so-called friends. However, hearing that it may happen in the animal world is a little surprising, especially given that accused bullies are none other then the friendliest of all marine mammals - Dolphins!

While his namesake, the former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, may not have been very thrilled, 2-year old Tyson didn't seem to mind in the least bit when he was crowned winner of this year's 'Beautiful Bulldog' pageant, held by Des Moines based Drake University.

Last week, scientists from Germany's Senckenberg Museum of Zoology announced the discovery of four new species of freshwater crabs in the biologically diverse island province of Palawan in the Philippines. Confined to a small inland area within the lowland-forest ecosystems of the island, the tiny crustaceans feature bright purple or red shells and red-tipped claws.

Over the years, paleontologists have been able to find many well-preserved remains of Woolly Mammoths like Lyuba, the 42,000 year-old baby that was discovered in 2007. However, none have been as complete or provided as much insight, as the remains of this 10,000 year old frozen mammal that was unearthed recently.

Though these fuzzy cinnamon colored chicks may resemble their ordinary cousins, they are actually one of the world's most endangered species of ducks - The Madagascar Pochard. They are so rare that until about seven years ago, scientists believed they had become extinct.
